Jacques & Karen's IVF Journey

Donation protected
When you and your husband have prayed for and tried to have children for many years, the last thing you want to do is find yourself in your OBGYN's office hearing him say, "You're going to need help. I'll refer you to a fertility specialist for IVF."
But that's exactly how it went.
For me, all sorts of things happened in rapid procession. It felt like the air had been sucked out of the room, shame quickly settled in my heart, and I felt like a failure as a woman.
(Thankfully, I'm now learning to quiet those feelings that whisper to my heart and recognize them for the lies that they are).
As far as procedural things go, I've taken oral hormones, injected hormones, had more ultrasounds than I can keep track of, been poked so many times I feel like a human pin cushion, had a couple of hysteroscopes, and an IUI.
The IUI was unsuccessful, so now we're ready to proceed with IVF.  That means I'm in for MANY more ultrasounds, more blood work, and injecting more hormones.
The part where I inject hormones into myself might sound scary and horrible, but I'm finding it to be the easy part in this journey.
Empty arms is the hard part.
For those who don't know us, or don't know us well, Jacques and I have been married for 15 years.  We're quite nuts about our nieces, nephews, and great nephews, and nieces.  We love being silly with them, and that they call us  Aunt Crazy and Uncloo.   :)
I am a licensed Cosmetologist and Author who enjoys music, and baking.  I am published in Chicken Soup For The Dieter's Soul, and have a book on Amazon for Kindle and PC called, When Enough Is Enough!  How I Lost Weight Without Losing My Mind.
Jacques is an interpreter at a local medical facility helping refugees.  He is amazing at it, and the people just love him to pieces!
Now that you know about us and our story, we would like to ask for your support.
Support comes in many different forms such as:
*Prayer-please, please be in prayer for us. This is an incredibly stressful, and highly emotional journey.
*Treat us like normal-every couple's journey is different because every couple's physical circumstances are different. We know people have the best of intentions, but hearing of other people's fertility issues, and/or sharing with us things found online will only cause stress. Thank you for understanding!
*Prayer-did I mention prayer?  :)
*Financial-this is very difficult and awkward but should you feel led to support in this way, IVF is an incredibly costly thing to go through. There are medications, ultrasounds, and blood tests galore before you even start IVF.
Thank you so much for considering support in one or more ways. There really are no words to express our gratitude!
