The one thing that we all have in common is our incredible admiration and love for Karen.
Karen is loving, compassionate, thoughtful and is one of those people you can always count on for love and support. Today, Karen needs us to return that love and support.
During this past summer Karen started experiencing pain in her back and hips. Then at the beginning of September, Karen went to the hospital as she was having some trouble breathing. The first thought was “pneumonia” but after a number of tests, Karen was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer.
Since that diagnosis Karen has gone through ten (10) rounds of radiation, a number of tests, specifically a genetic marking test to determine what medicine and treatment will be the best for her, some additional medical set-backs but more important some great milestones and achievements. One of which is that she recently started her treatment and we should know more about the success of this treatment in a month.
With this, there is a lot of additional of good news to share:
* Karen’s back and hip pain is starting to dissipate
* Karen is finally heading home after a month and a half in the hospital
* Karen has a phenomenal medical and care team looking after her
* Karen has qualified for state-of-the-art drug therapy
To ensure that Karen is on the best path for success and provide her with the greatest amount of hope her medical team has suggested that Karen takes a specific drug and has specific care during her treatment. Unfortunately, this drug is not covered by her insurance and the additional services to support Karen during this time are also not covered.
Knowing that this treatment is the best for her we have created this GoFundMe page to help with the incredible medical expenses.
