Hello friends and family!
I am so excited to share with you that I have been called to serve in Youth With a Mission (YWAM) in Pichilemu, Chile this coming September for 5 months! I will be volunteering as a staff member in the Discipleship Training School (DTS), the same school that I was a student of 2 years ago. The DTS is meant for students and staff to grow in closer intimacy with God as we learn about His character and His purposes for our lives and the world. It is a 3 month lecture phase followed by a 2 month cross cultural outreach. 2 years ago, I reluctantly gave into a "nudging" of my heart to do a DTS. I had no idea what to expect but I once the journey began, I was amazed at the transformation taking place in my heart. Turns out I was a thirsty soul who just needed Jesus. That is what is so special about the DTS. It is a time to take off masks, make lifelong friends, and give space and time to God to have His way in our hearts. I can't wait to be a part of the upcoming school and to meet the new students who will be coming to be filled by what Jesus has in store for them. During my time there, I will be responsible for helping meet some of the practical needs such as preparing meals and organizing outreaches for the community of Pichilemu. It is going to be a packed and exciting time!
My thirsty heart has been satisfied in Jesus and I believe He is calling me to bring others to know Him better. I have spent that past two years encountering God and sharing His name in various schools and outreaches through YWAM and because of the support of my church, my family and friends I have been able to pay every fee. I am asking for help for this upcoming season in prayer and finances. If you would like to make a difference in the staff fees, my flight to and from Chile or outreach fees (I will find out upon my arrival to Chile what location this will be!) I would be so grateful. If there is a nudging in your heart to do a DTS, I'd say go for it :D God's love is relentless- He won't stop loving us! Thanks for taking the time to read this!
