Send Kai to TEDxCERN in Geneva

A few months ago, my 11 year old son Kai saw an article about how TEDxCERN was extending tickets to include a few people who would like to submit an essay application.

Kai submitted his application online with a paragraph or two about why he wanted to attend. I have no idea what he wrote, (and didn't think anything of it at the time, because, what were the odds really?) but the CERN folks reached out to me this morning to invite him to attend in 2 weeks.
This is a once in a lifetime event for him and I'm a bit stunned by the invitation. His fascination with math, physics, and time / reality theory has become fascinating to watch as he's developed. For him to be able to attend, listen to all the speakers, see CERN... It's hard to describe what this would mean to him.
On the flip side, I'm trying to sort this out. I'm a single mom who beat breast cancer a year and a half ago, but the bills are still being paid off. I got him a vacation this year by bringing him on a buisness trip with me, but this is well beyond my ability to pay for, espscially not in a 2 week time period.
Another parent friend of mine suggested I try this. I am reaching out to see if folks would be wiling to help sponsor Kai to get to CERN for this event, or assist me in trying to raise funds for part of the trip, even if it's in helping me get exposure to folks who might consider helping. I don't typically ask for help because I don't feel I have the right, but this is a sudden unplanned for opportunity coming at the tail end of the year and I don't quite know how to swing all of it.
In any case, one way or another I'm going to try to get him there! I'm just in awe of these sorts of opportunities, and would feel blessed by any help.
