As many of you know, this last week has been a whirlwind for us at Wardrobe Department.

• On Saturday we were greeted with a notice of a severe rent increase (including an extremely large security deposit) for our current location that we have called home for the past 9 years.

• It was/is a heavy blow, as we have created and shared in a wonderful community with our customers that became family, as well as the many vendors that we have had the fortune of providing a space to launch and thrive.

• Obviously, there has been a shift in the climate of all retail businesses as of late and we are ultimately excited to grow and evolve with said shift.

The saying goes, “We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”

 

• This abrupt action by our landlord was not only unexpected but also potentially illegal.

We can NOT stay. It’s Not Sustainable.

We Did Not Have A Relocation In Our Budget.

After much deliberation, we have decided to fight. 

• Just like we needed YOU to support when we planted this seed, we need YOU yet again, to continue to help it mature. We must raise The Money in order to stay in this fight. We have been working really hard at the store to raise the funds we are asking for any donations both small or large in order for us to reach our goal.

 

Though it was born out of the hearts and souls of two women, it has become a beacon to many.
