Neil Uhrig's Leukemia Medical Bills

On June 7th, 2017, Neil Uhrig was diagnosed with Chronic myeloid leukemia, which is a cancer of the blood.  The leukemia is now under treatment with a powerful drug called Gleevec.  This medication will put Neil into remission, but will not cure the cancer.  He will be taking Gleevec for the rest of his life.  While Neil has good medical insurance through his police department, the actual cost of this disease is starting to rack up. Just the treatments to date have met the $8,000 out of pocket max, meaning Neil will have to pay that amount very soon.  The copay for the Gleevec is $100 a month, which adds up quick.  The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help defray some of the medical costs the Uhrig family will face.

Neil is a police detective in Post Falls, Idaho with 11 years on the force.  He is married to his wonderful wife kat and has two grade school children.
