Support for Sarah

Hi, my name is Desare, and I am trying to help my good friends Juliann Ferguson and Kim McCuen. Juliann and Kim's 26-year-old daughter Sarah passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 26, 2023. Sarah was a bright young woman who was currently enrolled at CSUSB, served in the US Navy, and had a passion for Pokemon, Harry Potter, Disneyland, and Spongebob.

Over the last three months, Sarah had multiple health issues since her bariatric surgery in February. Sarah received care from five different hospitals during this time and every hospital said there was nothing wrong with her stomach and it was healed. Sarah had been complaining of nausea, dizziness, and pain and was treated for UTI's, pancreatitis, gallstones, kidney stones, and various other deficits. Sarah was barely eating or drinking and did not feel well enough to get out of bed the entire time. During all of these hospital visits, not one physician could give her a reason for her declining health and there was never a diagnosis. Since the beginning of May, Sarah lost the ability to walk, move her arms, hear, talk, or swallow. Sarah had lost almost 80 lbs in those few months and her family constantly advocated for her to get proper nutrition and to get her transferred to a higher level of care. The medical team finally approved a transfer the night before she passed away. Sarah never got the chance to get the care she needed for her body to recover and live a full life. At the request of the family, they have finally been approved to have a private company perform an autopsy to help give the family answers and some closure.

I am reaching out to you on their behalf to make a heartfelt appeal for your support and to raise money for the cost of her cremation and Celebration of Life. I hope that together we can create a world where health and well-being are not determined by one's financial circumstances.
