“Solos podemos hacer tan poco; juntos podemos hacer mucho” (Helen Keller).

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much"- Helen Keller. Soccer fan, beach lover, crazy for cars, a great person, a huge heart. Iván is one of the kindest and most generous people in the world, his willingness to help is always expansive, and he extends his hand to those who need it; now is our time to help him. In June 2023, Iván had a heart attack in his right artery, something unexpected that caused fear and uncertainty, but as the days passed and with great care, he soon recovered after having a stent placed.
It seemed that everything was returning to normal until in August he had another heart attack, stronger and causing concern for both him and us, his family. They performed a catheterization, evaluated his arteries and to prevent more heart attacks he began receiving plenty of anticoagulants and medications that kept him safe. He began to take care of himself, exercise, attend medical check-ups and maintain a healthy life and routine, so that his heart remains healthy. Everything was going wonderfully. It seemed that everything was returning to normal until in August he had another heart attack, stronger and causing concern for both him and us, his family. He began to take care of himself, exercise, attend medical check-ups and maintain a healthy life and routine, so that his heart remained healthy. Everything was going wonderfully.
We welcomed the new year with him, and on January 1st he began to feel bad again, he was tired, he felt exhausted and he was not in very good spirits. On January 2 he felt pain in his arm, and given his condition, that was worrying. They performed an electrocardiogram, he had a heart attack again so he was admitted to the ICU. Another stent was placed, but due to the condition of his artery, the second one he needed could not be placed. The doctors told us that he has a condition called arteriosclerosis, which is why his heart is prone to infarction. After that scare, Ivan began to feel better, he was transferred to a room, just waiting to be discharged to return home to his family. However, on the 5th in the morning he had a heart attack again and was transferred to the ICU again. . The suffering and pain for us increased when at approximately 2:00 p.m. we received a call, one of those that no one would like to receive. Ivan's heart had produced an arrhythmia, which culminated in cardiac arrest. He was intubated and sedated, and began receiving medications and treatments in the ICU, but each day his heart and other organs were weakening. The deterioration of his health was so great that life expectancy was very low, the medical diagnoses were discouraging and our heart, like Iván's, hurt more every day.
As family members we could not sit idly by, we had to do something more for him, who has given us everything all his life. We decided to take the risk of transferring him by ambulance to another hospital where his life expectancy was higher, and the medical diagnoses were more encouraging. One of the most difficult decisions of our lives. However, thanks to the support of family, friends, doctors and, above all, a lot of faith and prayers, Iván began to improve significantly by the time he arrived at the hospital. To improve his quality of life, he underwent surgery again, an 8-hour procedure to place 5 stents, a formidable job by the doctors where, due to the shape and structure of the artery, they were only able to place 4/5 stents.
Regardless of the result, the doctors did everything for Ivan to improve, his organs began to function well, he was extubated, the sedative was removed and now he speaks, blows kisses and thanks everyone who has been present in some way. As you can see, the process has been long, and there is still a long way to go before recovery. We turn to your generous support since Iván, having a pre-existing medical condition, could not expand his insurance coverage, so we were only able to cover the treatments at the previous hospital. But we still have infinite expenses that the insurance will no longer cover. Your help is important to gradually add funds to help cover his hospital expenses, rehabilitation and treatments. This way we help Ivan have one less worry and stay calm, focusing solely on his recovery.
We thank you infinitely for your prayers and support during these difficult times!
