Juniper's Double CCL Surgery

It was June of 2016 when my roommate brought home a 3-month old brindle bull terrier mix puppy that was in desperate need of a new home. She was small and underfed, all of her ribs visible, and a smell of defecation lingered on her fur from not being properly house-trained. Aside from her current misfortunes, she was the sweetest, most cuddly companion I've ever met and we took an instant attraction to one another. As most pet parents, I was not prepared nor equipped to take on the challenges of raising a new puppy, but my compassion and love for her outweighed any doubts I had, and Juniper shortly became my new best friend.
Unfortunately, Juniper was not dealt the most gracious hand. Beside her birth defect of a misaligned jaw, she started developing health problems that seemed quite uncommon for such a young pup. From her severe case of skin allergies, to her constant reoccuring urinary infections, to her repetitive foot injuries, she soon developed a reputation within the Portland veterinary community. As a young woman in my mid-20s, a full-time job is simply not enough to support myself and this very misforunate puppy.
Juniper is now 1 year and 6 months old, but her health is far from improving. With time, her back legs seem to get weaker, and she could not go on walks for longer than 10 minutes at a time without collapsing to the ground. At first, I thought it was due to laziness or attention to get belly rubs, but there was a much larger problem soon to arise. Juniper and I were on a week long roadtrip through the High Cascades when she went to fetch a stick along a sandy river shore. Within seconds, she cried in pain and limped back to me, curled at my feet and unable to move. The trip was cut short as I rushed her back to Portland for medical attention. After a 2-hour vet visit and lots of x-rays later, Juniper was diagnosed with a broken foot and ruptured Cranial Cruciate Ligaments (CCL) in both of her back legs.
The vet insisted that we get the procedure done within the next month to ensure that Juniper's condition does not worsen. With all of the radiographs, medications, surgical procedures, and physical therapy for both of her legs, the estimated costs are $6000. After the thousands of dollars I have already spent on Juniper's health, this surgery will be a huge financial burden and we can use all the help we can get. We greatly appreciate any donations that will enable Juniper to get back on her feet again and feeling like the young, energetic pup that she is. <3
