Support Julie in Running the Boston Marathon for HYFH!

Tax deductible
I am excited to share that I will be running the 129th Boston Marathon on April 21, 2025! This has been a dream in the making and as a coach and board member, I am honored to have been chosen to run on behalf of Hopkinton Youth Field Hockey (HYFH)!

Being part of a community that promotes confidence, sportsmanship, teamwork, fun, and love of field hockey for our young players, feels like home. My fellow coaches and I will often say, "field hockey days are the best days.” I am incredibly proud to represent this program!

I am a Hopkinton resident along with my husband, Brock Jacobites and daughters, Sophie (9) and Emmy (6). My field hockey journey dates back to high school and I continued to play intramural field hockey in college and adult leagues post-college. I have proudly shared my love for the game with my daughters, who both participate in the HYFH program. In 2023, I teamed up with Hopkinton Parks and Rec to create an adult women’s field hockey pick-up league that continues to run each spring. In this house, field hockey has become a year-long sport.

Having grown up in Framingham, alongside the Boston Marathon route, I have vivid childhood memories of the endless waves of runners who filled the streets on the 3rd Monday of every April. Always in awe of Marathon runners, I have found myself cheering on friends and family who have taken on this challenge. When I moved to Hopkinton 10 years ago, it was impossible not to wonder if I could run it too. After a good friend asked if me if I was going to run the Boston Marathon enough times, I began to believe I could run it. I have decided to run the Boston Marathon for HYFH to show my daughters and the players I coach that with hard work and determination, we can all accomplish hard and seemingly impossible feats.

Currently, I work as a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner for HopeHealth. I became a consistent runner as an adult, running my first half marathon in 2013 and eventually went on to run a total of 4 half marathons along with other distances including the 5k, 10k and 10-miler. Despite the New England weather, I am a year-round runner and belong to the Moms Run This Town (MRTT) Hopkinton chapter.

I can’t help but take a moment to pause and recognize the great privilege it is not only to have the opportunity to run Boston, but to get to be a coach. I love my job in health care, but when I tell you coaching is one of the greatest joys of my life (in addition to being a parent), I mean it to my core. As a mom and coach, I get to watch my daughters and players learn, grow, and thrive. Is there anything better?

Please consider making a donation to help fund our growing program, new equipment, field time, referees, events, and more. I am excited and honored to run on behalf of the HYFH organization!

Thank you in advance for your support! I hope to see you out on the course on Marathon Monday!
