Hello! My name is Sheila Jaffe and I am a close friend of Julia’s. I creating this page to help my friend. Julia King  who was diagnosed  in late September 2016 with a grade 4  glioblastoma, (the worse and  rarest form) it is a terminal cancerous brain tumor. It all started on July 27th 2016 when she started to have stroke-like symptoms. As these symptoms quickly  worsened she had a full body  seizure and was immediately rushed to the hospital in Ormond Beach, FL where she and her family live. She thought she was having a stroke.  Sadly that seizure was just a symptom of the brain tumor. By the time Brian (her husband) got her to his car, she started convulsing and continued having the full body seizure. Within ten minutes she was in the emergency room of Florida Hospital in Ormond Beach with over 10 doctors working on her at once. Throughout the next three months she had been through a lot, constant focal seizures, blurry vision at times, and on heavy anti  seizure drugs, that kept her sleeping about 18 hours a day. She was also in and out of the hospital undergoing a bunch of test. Finally, her doctors concluded through many MRI and PET scans, that the mass in her head was in fact a tumor, and a biopsy was  performed. Once the biopsy results were in, it was finally  revealed to us what was causing all these symptoms, a grade 4  glioblastoma. The plan for her care was surgery to removes as much of the tumor as possible without  permanently damaging her motor skills, and speech. Soon after she recovered from  that she started chemotherapy and radiation treatments to shrink the tumor and  hopefully its growth. She is now on what's called 5/23. This treatment is very high doses of  chemotherapy five days a month, and then she's off the other 23 days per month.  Julia is putting all her trust in Jesus Christ and we are praying for a total healing.

My dear friend Julia was born here in Florida to two amazing parents.  She grew up with her supportive siblings in Orlando.  She met the love of her life, Brian King and married him 25 years ago.  When Brian and Julia had their children, Ashley, Jessica, and Matthew, she made the selfless decision to homeschool them. Together, Julia and Brian raised their children in the Christian faith.  Julia encouraged each of her children to pursue their hobbies and explore desires such as voice lessons, sports, and volunteer work.  The King family has done work in the mission field, by going on mission trips with their church regularly. In the past year Julia has spent time soul searching for her next great passion and looks forward to devoting more of her time in the mission field, as well as being heavily involved in raising awareness and coping strategies within the  relatively small group of people suffering with this incurable disease.
