Sister Juliana Morrison's Recovery

Donation protected

On February 22, 2016 Juliana Morrison, who was serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Kirtland Visitors Center, Cleveland,Ohio Mission, was in a very serious life threatening automobile accident which crushed her pelvis, fractured her skull, broke her cervical spine, neurologically injured her left arm, broke multiple ribs, and collapsed both lungs, among other injuries.

Her injuries are severe and her hospital course has been tumultuous with many close calls.   Her trauma surgeons insist that she should have died, but by the grace of God, and in answer to many prayers, and the wonderful skill and expertise of her nurses and doctors she is recovering slowly.

My name is Dwain Roberts.  I am a long time friend of this family and I love them dearly.  Even though the Church is paying for Juliana's medical bills , I wanted to help her parents with some of the other expenses that they have incurred and will likely incur in the near future because of the accident.

Of course Juliana's parents wouldn't accept money from me but I have persuaded them to let me raise money on Juliana's behalf by explaining how important it is for friends and other individuals to have a way to help in a practical way.

I have set a goal of $12,500.  It breaks down like this: Juliana cannot be moved back to Canada for many weeks.  The family has already incurred about $4500  for transportation costs back and forth from Edmonton Aberta to Cleveland Ohio.  I would like to reimburse those costs and provide money for Jeff, her father and Juliana's youngest sister to make that trip two more times as needed.  That would cost about $3000 depending on ticket prices. I am also anticipating the need for ramps and other modifications to the house for Juliana's extended rehabilitation.  I don't know what that might cost but I am estimating it could be in the neighborhood of $5000.

Look at this beautiful young woman's picture.  Look at that smile even though she is in a lot of pain.  We may not be able to take away the effects of  that accident but we can help ease the Morrison's financial burden. I hope you will consider helping out.
