Judy Whitt's Baton Rouge Flood Fund

Hello Friends:

Many of you may know that my mom, Judy Whitt, lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in the Millerville area. Thanks in great part to the many generous GoFundMe donations that came in after the storm, she has been able to make some progress. Despite having flood insurance, she continues to be denied by the insurers for certain things essential to the recovery of her home. Recently she was informed the insurance would not cover some major mold issues as well as some other things. The process has been slowed, if not stopped, due to some of these hold ups from the Flood Insurance.

I am here in Rock Island, IL hoping to continue to do as much as I can to help my mom from afar. Thankfully I was able to visit her recently and I saw both the progress and the extreme lack of progress. She still cannot live in her home.

When the flooding hit Louisiana, she had to leave her home as the waters rose and came closer. As of yet, she has not been able to return to live in the home. Her home was flooded. Friday, August 12th was her 67th birthday. She already lost everything once when she was living in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. Now she is facing having to replace much of her belongings and have much of her home and appliances either replaced or repaired. It is unfortunate that the Thanksgiving/Christmas season is here and she still is many steps away from having her home actually restored. We had hoped she be all finished before Thanksgiving.

At this advanced age now on a fixed income, she continues to need all the help she can get. Thanks to each of you for what you may have already donated and anything you can do to help now. Even if it as simple as spreading the word, everything is appreciated. Please continue to pray. My mother is a woman of strong faith and appreciates the prayers. Each share of the link for this page does a lot to help spread the word.
