"Courage is saying bye to your parent in prison".
Bridging Boundaries Youth with Incarcerated Parents
is a free arts-based program. Since 2009, our village of teaching artists, social workers, and mentors work with children to help them discover new ways of expression through dance, song, art, poetry and much, much more.
More than 1000 children in the city of Hartford alone have an incarcerated parent. We create a safe space for them to explore and share personal stories that promote growth, foster healing and decrease the stigma of having a loved-one in prison.
Currently, our in-school program runs in Parkville, Burr, and Moylan elementary schools. In addition, we coordinate an after school program held at the Church of the Good Shepherd. However, the demand to do more and reach more kids is growing everyday.
We need you!
We run on 100% donations and a love for a community in need. Your generous donation will help JDPP continue our mission to expand our reach into more schools and serve more children and their families.
Please Give, Share and Post so that more children will always have the Bridging Boundaries Arts Intervention Program.
