Juan Martinez Funeral & Family Support
Donation protected
If you have had the pleasure of knowing the Martinez-Flores family you know that they are some of the most kindest and hardest working people you will ever meet. They have recently suffered a tremendous loss due to the ongoing pandemic and require support and help. Heres a little backstory:
Juan Pedro Martinez Chichil was a hardworking husband and loving father to 4. He was the main provider for his family and essential worker, he came home after a long day of work and started having trouble breathing, His wife was very worried as he was hyperventilating excessively and decided to call 911. When the ambulance came based on the circumstances no one was allowed to go with him, his family did not know this would be the last time they would see or even speak to their father...
Juan Martinez was transported to the emergency room and waited there alone for 10 hours as he waited for room in the ICU, his family had no communication with him as there was no service in the hospital. The following morning on June 1st, 2020 his breathing got worse so they decided to intubate him and induce a coma, which was the last time Juan was awake. Doctors communicated to the family that Juan’s lungs were very damaged due to the virus as it was progressing by the hour, his treatment plan included to start him on convalescent plasma and on a RotoProne Bed to help with his oxygen levels. They waited two days for the hospital to obtain them during the wait Juan’s oxygen levels dropped which had the doctors bump up the ventilator to 100% meaning that the ventilator was essentially performing all breathing for Juan. When he was started on the RotoProne Bed his vitals stabilized. On the 4th day they performed xrays and noticed that his lungs were filled with fluid so it was decided to provide him more medication but due to all the antibiotics and previous medication his kidney were starting to fail on him. He had high fevers which were able to be controlled with medication but due to the constant rising of his body temperature it was causing damage to his body and brain. On the 6th day doctors notified the family there was a slim chance that Juan would make it, we remained hopeful throughout this time something that Juan always reminded and taught us, “never give up.” The following day he went into cardiac arrest, due to his oxygen levels being so lows in the 50s/60s, Juans body could no longer handle the lack of oxygen and succumbed to the virus on Sunday June 7th, 2020. He leaves behind a Loving Wife, Son, and 3 young daughters.
As Juan was the main provider for his family, we are looking for help for the Martinez-Flores family as they go through this difficult time and loss. Any support or help is greatly appreciated as they navigate through this difficult situation and chaotic/uncertain times.
