Help me record “Welcome To The Promised Land”

Hey guys, my name is Josh Caddy. In my early twenties I was in a successful rock band called Bad City on Atlantic records. I was touring the country with SLASH and The Smashing Pumpkins, singing songs for Marvel, and truly living the “Rockstar” life.

Until one night when I got really drunk with an adult woman who was very close to the band. We went to a bedroom together, and in a moment of drunken stupidity, we gave into our lustful desires and I ended up crossing a line. The next morning, I found my entire world being flipped upside down as I was being accused of rape. 9 months of legal mitigation later, I was convicted of what’s called non-consent.

I ended up spending almost 6 years in prison because of it.

Now, When this was all first happening, I remember reaching a point of being so utterly broken and ashamed and dead inside, that I literally wanted to die… My heart had officially given up. I thought someone was surely going to murder me in prison… and I was ok with it.

I couldn’t come to grips with losing all that had been accomplished.

But my parents, who never gave up on me, sent me a Bible. And thank you Jesus for giving me even just a mustard seed of hope to start reading it, because when I did, something started to come alive in me.

I soon found myself going to the prison Chapel where volunteer ministers would come in and share with us the gospel… and you know what, Jesus started speaking to me… and I got right down on my knees in my prison uniform and gave my life to Jesus!!

And let me tell you WOW did Jesus show up!! God behind bars is real!!

There’s soooo much more I can say about Gods goodness and how He has redeemed and protected me ever since, but if I can get down to brass tacks, God never let the dream of making music die. The flame has never burned out! I’ve been leading worship in church for 6 years now and it’s time to finally record an album of my own music again - only this time I’m fueled by the love and mercy of my Savior and not selfish gratification. I’ve written an album that sounds like Bad City but about God, about Jesus, and about life through the valley of the shadow of death.

I’m asking for your help to make it happen! I have the team to make it happen and have already finished one song to help get the ball rolling✝️ (check the end of the video for a teaser!)

First of all, any contribution helps towards the overall cost of the project, so anything at all, be it $5, $10, $20 bucks, is extremely appreciated! Thank you!!

Another option is to support a specific cost towards the project…

It’s $35 an hour to be in the studio.

It’ll take me 2 days per song, that’s about 16 hours of studio time the breakdown looks something like this:

1 hour of Studio time = $35

1 day of studio time = $280

2 days of studio time = $560

Mixing and mastering per song = $450

Total cost to complete 1 song = $1010

Total Cost to record, mix, and master 11 songs = $11,110

Other costs include:

Drummers - $75 per song = $825

Guitar & Bass strings = $150

Travel Costs (to San Bernardino) = $600

Album/Social media Artwork = $500

Music Video/Lyric Video = $500

— Total Cost and goal to reach to complete the project = $13,685

All in all and after the Gofundme fee of 2.9%, were at about $14,100.

After going over the numbers again and again, im confident that this will be the albums total cost. In the grand scheme of things, this is not an astronomical amount of money, and with your help, and with God on our side, we can make this happen… after all, we need a fresh blend of Rock infused worship!! I need it!!
