Josey's Miracle Baby "Ryker"
Where do I begin?
I started this fundraiser page for my sister and her unborn baby. He was diagnosed with Gastroschisis. On Februrary 20, 2015 all Josey's family went to the hospital in Dallas to wait for his arrival. Josey labored for most of the day, midmorning he had a steep drop in his heart rate which is unknown to the reason why, Josey and Ryker hung in there. At 3:00 p.m. Ryker's heartbeat started to rise and they did few procedures to try to get it down but failed so she went for an emergency c-section within a matter of minutes. I got to go in for the delivery with her, being thru three kids myself this was an experience I will never forget, I cant put in words what I was about to experience. Josey was about dialted to an 8, so he was pretty far down in the cervix so they had to use a lot of force pushing him back up to be pulled out, but here he came he was born at 3:39 p.m. It took seven minutes to hear him cry, the longest seven miutes of my life, I feel like the room was just spinning, so you can imagine what Josey was feeling. Rykers defect was a lot worse than originally thought, his stomach, liver, part of his bladder, some of the large intestine and part of small intestine was all outside his body. To hear his little cry was one of the most incredible things I have ever heard. Once they got him stable they moved straight to the NICU, Josey got to see him for a very brief second and he was off. Josey did so well under the circumstances she is by far one of the strongest women I know. Ryker weighed 6lbs 6 ounces and was 18.3 in long. After being in transported to Childrens hospital, they found that part of his intestines is sick and dont know how much is going to recover. Josey got realesed from the hospital and spends most of the day and night by his side. Josey lives with her family in Arkansas, she has a 6 year old little girl named Raylee. Josey also has two stepdaughters Kaylen and Tabitha, it is very hard for then to be away from there girls. She delivered down here because it had the best place for medical attention for the baby. Steve Josey's husband is there at the hospital by there side. Josey and Steve have a lot on their plate with little man and their girls.
As of today February 26,2015
Ryker's bowels are still dusky but better blood flow. he tolerated the reduction fine but somehow the bottom part of the Shiloh that is below the skin popped off on one side and caused them to stop the reduction for the day. He has been in a lot of pain and tomorrmorning at 8 they are goingto try hte reduction again and if it pops out again then they will put him on a ventilator to paralyze him basically until the reduction is finished and they are able to close him up. The opening of the defect has more than likely gotten bigger due to the amount of days its been since the silo was placed.. We have had to wait days to even begin the process because they thought his intestines were narcotic and we had togive him time to heal. He will be in the hospital for an unseen amount of time. This has been a very rough experience for all of us
We ask if you can not make a donatin please keep Josey and Ryker and her family in your prayers. All money will go towards medical bills, travel expenses and household bills they will be out of work for a while staying with her miracle. Please donate if you can God bless
i will try to update this page as time goes on, please say a special prayer tonight because little man is in pain.
