Restore Home for the Jones Family This Christmas
Donation protected

Hi, my name is Tina Covey!
My NC family has teamed up to start this GoFundMe for a very another NC family which we have adopted for Christmas because this family has needs beyond what we can provide them for Christmas. I know so many are going through major loss right now with the hurricane and storms so if you can't provide financially, we ask that you share this families story.
This is the Jones family. Samantha and her husband David have 2 boys, ages 10 and 15. They are in North Carolina, currently living in David's mechanic shop. Their single-wide mobile home was damaged during the storm by fallen trees. They were hoping the damages could be repaired, but after having the home professionally assessed, it has been deemed a total loss.
The mechanic shop where they are currently staying also suffered some damage to the foundation. Local neighbors are helping them stabilize the shop foundation.
I've had multiple conversations with Samantha, and she is so humble and didn't want to ask for any help because she says, "there are others worse off than we are" meaning others do not have any shelter but they do have the shop.
David who is the sole financial support to this family has lost income due to the damage to the shop. He was not able to work at all for a period of time. Now, people just aren't bringing their vehicles in for repairs unless it is absolutely necessary because so many are struggling in the area.
Samantha is disabled due to the many health issues she lives with on a daily basis and needs to be living in her own home, not the mechanic shop. She is a Type 1 diabetic on an insulin pump, incomplete Lupus, Graves' disease, Fibromyalgia, Bony Sclerosis in her hip, and Hashimoto's disease. Samantha worked as a 911 operator until her health issues got so bad that she could no longer work. As you can imagine, with all of the health issues, doctor bills have accumulated as well.
In addition to Samantha's health issues, her youngest son was born with a cleft palate. However, it was not the kind that you can see; it was inside his mouth. Again, there were many doctor visits as they tried to figure out why he wasn't gaining weight as he should. It was not until 2 weeks after he was born that the doctors figured out what was wrong.
The disaster of Hurricane Helene was not the thing Samantha and her family needed in their life at this time. We are hoping to raise enough money to offset some of the cost of replacing the single-wide trailer they lost during the storm.
All funds collected will be sent directly to the family in need.
