In Memory of Jonathan Wry(JG): Liberty U. Student

JG was the friend that would take you to the hospital at 3 in the morning, or sleep on the floor so you can sleep on the bed. He would give you his last and only piece of bread just so you could have something to eat. He was a son of missionaries from Bolivia, the oldest of three siblings. He was a passionate servant who was excited to finish his last year in the Nursing program at Liberty University, where he'd also just been hired to serve as a Resident Assistant for the upcoming school year.
On May 5, 2022, JG left Lynchburg for a quick summer visit to his family and to take care of his ill grandmother in his hometown, Bolivia. After spending 2 days at home, JG suffered a fatal accident while traveling on a motorcycle. He was hit from behind while his parents and family were just meters in front of him in a car. Despite all efforts to save him in the middle of a jungle in Bolivia, JG was welcomed in Heaven. The hearts of his family, friends and everyone who knew him are broken today. I ask that you help us pray for comfort as we enter this season of grief.
During his short 21 years of life, JG impacted the lives of everyone who knew him. He was always looking for opportunities to serve others and glorify God with his life. Despite the trials and difficulties that marked his life, he had a big smile and knew how to persevere and stay faithful to his calling to be a nurse and serve others. He was an encourager even when he himself was down. He brought so much joy to his friends and served as an example of a high moral character and a kind-hearted guy.
During his time at Liberty, JG served as a commuter shepherd with the Office of Spiritual Development and then successfully completed all phases of the RA hiring process with the Office of Residence Life (A process that I witnessed as an RD). After showing an excellent character and a servant's heart, JG was hired as an RA and expected to serve dozens of students during his last year of college.
If you can help financially, the Wry Family in Bolivia will be forever grateful. Your donations will be sent to the family to cover all funeral expenses, ship JG's belonging back to Bolivia, and help this missionary family as much as we can.
Thank you for all your support.
