Greetings family and friends,
You might have already heard that Meredith and I are getting married! We are so thankful for her parents who are graciously helping us with our wedding expenses. As I have gathered over the years of talking to married couples about their weddings is to not worry so much about dumping money into the wedding day but spend a little extra on our honeymoon. That task can seem a little daunting. We kept our wedding small to keep costs down on her parents but we are going to go big on our honeymoon to make our memories.
As all of you know, over this past December I made the best decision of my life, and that was to ask Mere to Marry me, but what only some of you might know is that on that very same month I made the second best decision of my life and that was to buy a new house and invest in our future. As you can imagine the task of outfitting and furnishing the house on top of the expense of buying one, all while getting rings and preparing for a wedding was quite a challenge for us both and the reserves are running low.
Thankfully God graced me with a good job fighting fire in the summer, training and recruiting other firefighters in the off season and two great extra room mates to help with the financially difficult times. Meredith currently works in the challenging service industry and is starting to transition into a new career path. She started working from home with Rodan and Fields and plans on attending college once we are married.
We are asking for your help to send us somewhere warm. We arranged our wedding day to fit right at the end of the fire season so we can be filled with anticipation while I'm away during those long summer months and the wedding day and honeymoon will be all the better and well deserved.
We are going to a beautiful part of Mexico to a town about 20 minutes southwest of Cancun to Playa del Carmen at the Grand Princess Hotel Riviera Maya. We know it's a long name but it needs one to cover the size of this beautiful all inclusive resort. We will also be exploring the nearby areas for cave diving, exploring Mayan ruins, scuba diving and much more.
Any donation received will be considered a wedding gift to us, no matter how big or small. We really appreciate all of you and apologize we couldn't bring more of you to our wedding.
If by some grace of God and Miraculous generosity from friends and family we surpass our goal to fully fund the trip, we would put every extra penny received into our backyard project. Our back yard is a blank canvas waiting for it's masterpiece. We will be installing a deck and pergola over that deck where we can spend many nights sitting by the fire or having evening meals watching the sun go down.
So if you've made it this far, thank you for all your love and support for Meredith and I and know that we greatly appreciate any contribution you have to offer.
