Jonah's AML Fight
Donation protected
Jonah was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia on July 16, 2002, six days before his third birthday. A bone marrow transplant from his brother, Sam, Halloween that same year, blessed our family with almost 11 cancer-free years.
October 25, 2013, Jonah relapsed with the same cancer almost 11 years to the day of his transplant. February 10, 2014, he received stem cells from his sister Emma. This go around, Jonah has had pretty much every complication he could have, GVH, AVN bilateral shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles. He had a horrible time with BK virus and had to be hospitalized. Jonah was also diagnosed with insulin dependent diabetes.
He has tried to return to high school 3 times since his relapse but has been unable to attend due to his illness.
Through it all Jonah has been the epitome of strength. Jonah is a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan and just wants to be well enough to be a normal 16 year old young man. Our family has struggled in every way to hold on to each other, our home and financial security. I have lost my job as a nurse, my husband suffers from Parkinson's and our other children make unselfish sacrifices without complaint.
We are currently in danger of losing our home and would really appreciate any support we can get. We are a very loving family going through a difficult situation and would be so very grateful for some relief.
