Support For Hawes Family During Open Heart Surgery
Donation protected
My dear friend’s husband, Jonathan Hawes (Jon), is in Florida and was recently told he urgently needs open heart surgery. Jon has been having symptoms for the last five years, but they have gotten much worse in the last three months. Jon, his wife, and five year old son have been searching for answers and after extensive testing, Jon was diagnosed with a severe aortic regurgitation and fluid build up around his heart. He will be undergoing open heart surgery early next week.

After surgery, if all goes well, Jon will be attending a multitude of doctors appointments and cardiac rehab 45 minutes to an hour away from home for at least the next 4-6 months. These funds will be used for any additional expenses the family may incur such as their son needing child care during these regular appointments. They also have pets that will need care while he is hospitalized. Best case scenario, Jon will need 8 months of recovery time. This surgery will need to be repeated every 10-15 years. Because of the severity of the surgery, the extensive recovery time, and their young son, Jon’s wife will not be able to return to work for some time. This is obviously going to be very difficult on the entire family and the last thing they should not have to worry about is anything extra! This family is so generous and regularly helps with meal trains, childcare needs for others, and supports other families, and animals in need whenever possible. Let’s all do what we can to help them in their time of need.
