Hi, my name is Paulette, I am reaching out on behalf of my dad, John Walters. He has been bravely battling bladder cancer since December.
When his cancer was discovered, the tumor was already larger than his bladder capacity. Within two weeks of this diagnosis, he had surgery to have his kidneys drain into bags rather than his bladder due to the damage that was being caused to his kidneys. This surgery made it impossible for him to do his work as a self-employed general contractor.
In January, he was admitted into the hospital for a super-bug infection, which is still a serious medical issue. When he got to the mid-point of chemotherapy treatments, they evaluated him to determine if the chemo was effective thus far. The tests showed it was having no effect. They stopped chemo at that point and are trying to give him a little time to regain strength before they do the major surgery to remove his bladder, prostate, and lymph nodes. 2-4 weeks after this surgery they will start immunotherapy to hopefully get any other cancer cells that may be in his body. Just last week they found that he has a blood clot in his lung.
As mentioned, Dad had been a general contractor for many years, but he is also a Pastor. He is a great servant of God and has much more work to be done for God's Kingdom. He has said that his next journey is going to travel to share God's work and to do work in many other people's lives. Unfortunately, he cannot get through this financially and make that dream a reality without the love and blessings of others.
With all of this going on, my dad is unable to work and the limited amount of social security they receive is not enough to meet their obligations.
We are asking that you prayerfully consider helping them to cover medical expenses, treatments, and emotional support during this challenging time.
