John's Surgery and Medical Expenses
September 2004 my son, John Givens, had a very bad accident when the tie-rod broke in the old jeep he was driving. He was ejected from the vehicle and landed on his feet in a huge rocky cactus patch. The major injuries involved crushed bones in one foot, injuries to other foot, broken leg, head injury, shoulder injury and more.
He was screaming for help for 2-3 hours. Finally someone from a neighboring subdivision had gone outside and heard his cries for help. This man got in his car and drove until he found him. Then he called 911.
Five surgeries later and 16 days in the hospital left him with chronic pain to date.
Insurance raised his premium to an amount that was impossible to pay monthly (equivalent to a mortgage payment). He now has health insurance again but the deductible is so high that we cannot afford to pay it up front in order to have the additional surgery he needs now and to pay for his prescription bill.
This was a difficult decision to ask for your help, but thank you in advance for your prayers and any contributions you may make.
