DFC John Norman Brune, Jr., 54, of Willards, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of Nancy Nagel Brune of Baltimore County and the late John Norman Brune, Sr.
John was a Deputy Sheriff for the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office for the past 14 years. He also retired from the Baltimore City Police Department after 20 years in 2001. He was a member of The Fraternal Order of Police. John enjoyed life, family and friends to its fullest…..and traveling to Key West.
He is also survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Deborah Loats Brune; a daughter, Jordan A. Brune of Glen Burnie; 3 sons, Christopher C. Kramer of Baltimore, Jason G. Kramer of Brooklyn Park and Joshua D. Brune of Rosedale; 4 grandchildren, Jayla Kramer, Bella Kramer, Caleb Kramer and Gavin Paul Anderson; a sister, Linda Brune-Sheffler of Hanover, PA; and a brother, Joseph Brune of Baltimore.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with Rev. Carlo Leto officiating. There will be a visitation on Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in his memory to The John Brune Law Enforcement K-9 Foundation. Donations may also be made at any Bank of Delmarva Branch or mailed to:
