These are the words and thoughts of this young man who at the age of

22 is undergoing chemotherapy for a cancer growth in his groin.    He has been ill for the past year and is being treated at The Cancer Center at USCD in La Jolla, CA a suburb of San Diego, CA.

JOHAN GUTIERREZ GUERRERO, lives in Chula Vista, CA with his Mom.  She is a single Mom and most of her children are grown and married.  Johan is the only one currently at home with her.  His treatment requires that he be hospitalized one week at a time.  Then he is sent home for a week, and then again returns to the hospital for another round of Chemo.  He has been doing that for the past year.  Although he has at times been hospitalized for a month or more at a time.

Although he had many friends while in school, and others outside of school, he had never told any of them of his condition.   He never has any visitors while in the hospital other than his Mom and one of his brothers.    He just in the last 2 weeks, decided to "out" himself and posted a selfie of himself along with these words.  He posted in Spanish, although he is well versed in the English language as most of his family and friends are Spanish speaking.

This is a literal translation of his post on facebook.

"Yes, that is the way it is,  I look awful..............,

The truth is that I had never posted anything online because I did not want to ruin anyone's day with sad news.......but, I am now doing it, just because, it came to me, that I want all of you to know that I never wish what is happening to me on anyone.   I want to thank all of you who have supported me , also those of you that didn't know what was happening to me.   I also know that this will turn out allright and that I will beat this.    I am not asking here for any "likes", I just want you all to know that I don't want you to feel bad, or have pity.  Just remember that other people sometimes go through worse things, and they don't even complain.  You all go and live, enjoy life, always with taking care.  Perhaps some of you won't see this, but so be it.  I wish you all, the best, enjoy life, dance, laugh, cry and forgive, well, I shouldn't  tell  you what to do, because in the end, we all do what we want to do.

I send you all a big Hug."

Note:  along with his post, he posted a picture of himself.  That is him above.   And after friends, family, and acquaintances read his post, he received 153 comments from friends and other who didn't know he was going through this difficult time.

He is a brave young man.

Now lets all pitch in and help him and his Mom, since his Mom had to take a leave of absence from her job to shuttle him back and forth to the hospital, and to be with him while he is at home.   They really need all of our help,   Let's Pitch IN, and give them a hand.

God Bless.
