Joe Glad Medical Fund

My  name is Joe Glad, I have  been a trucker  24 years, the last 7 years as an owner/operator. I recently went to the hospital for congestive heart failure and it was discovered that I had a blood clot in  my heart and the aortic valve needs to be replaced.  I will need open heart surgery, at OHSU in Portland, Oregon, but because  my heart was only functioning at 15% I need to get it strengthened before surgery can be done, hopefully in 3-4 weeks. If surgery can't be done, then the future is bleak. This condition was not previously discovered as I have no diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol to alert doctors of need for testing.

I am raising money for hospital expenses and to supplement living expenses as I will be out of work at least  3-4 months. I have no idea what medical expenses will run, more than I can comprehend. Funds raised will be used for medical bills and living expenses. While at home, before surgery, I am on a very restrictive diet of fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, lean meat but no sodium, no cholesterol. Healthy eating is more expensive, as I am finding out, but it is helping to strengthen my heart along with medication.  I am doing all the doctors recommend.

Funds are needed as soon as possible as medical bills are starting to come in and I have exhausted almost all my available funds, Trying to sell my Freightliner to get out from under those payments, there's no income when it is not moving.

This is a hard thing to ask for because I am used to providing for my family and giving to others in need; this is a very humbling experience.  I am truly grateful for any help provided.
