Joe Brown fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi, Lucy here Joes Mum.
When i last asked for donations it was to help the Teenage Cancer Trust who without, Joes and our cancer journey would have been so much more difficult. Well now unfortunately i am raising money for Joe and us as a family. As most of you know Joe unfortunately has relapsed in his cancer journey. This was found from a routine MRI sadly and we received the devastating results on Friday 28th March!
Unfortunately this Cancer journey will hit very different and so we have started at a different hospital, this time at Christies. He has had his port insertion done yesterday and then he has some tests/scans on his kidneys etc today and then on Wednesday 16th April he will start on an aggressive program of chemotherapy. At the moment we don’t know if he can have more radiation or surgery it depends on how well he tolerates the Treatment and if the professionals think it can be done which at the moment they have said No too, but they will look at that further down the line. But what he can have is alternative therapy treatments but these come at a cost.
So why am i fundraising:- (and know Joe hates all this bit)
Alternative Therapies These can be costly, we won’t know the full costs until we know exactly what he can have but we know he can have hyberbaric oxygen therapy and red light therapy (and this isn’t like my facial red light therapy which make me look 25 ) this will be targeted into the Tumours.
Travel & Food Costs We will be travelling back and forth from home to Christies in Manchester. This will be fortnightly, then every 28 days but for full weeks at a time and then every week for bloods etc too. I bought us a sandwich each yesterday and some crisps and it was £13 now i know that’s not every day but add that up over a year. Also the travel costs to get to Ahead of the game were he will have the oxygen therapy etc is in New Brighton so we will be there as often as he feels well enough when off treatment!
Any other costs we may have to endure, or to even help fund a break away or similar.
We don’t expect anyone to donate but if you can it would be greatfully appreciated, your support over the years has been amazing and we are very lucky. Also if you are lucky enough to have a a business or work for an establishment that could help please share our page. As they say it’s not what you know, anyway if you can help we would be so thankful.
Anyway, thankyou all for your support so far but please continue to send your messages of love and support we need them and are thankful
