Our family rock, Joanne, is fighting for her life. On February 3rd, Joanne suffered an asthma attack, became hypoxic, and went into cardiac arrest. She is currently fighting to recover from severe anoxic brain damage. She has the immense love and support of her daughter BriAnna, husband Matthew, and large extended family, but needs the support of everyone to receive the care she desperately needs on this long road to recovery.
I hope anyone reading this has had the pleasure of knowing Joanne and has felt the amazing light she shines on everyone. Nothing can explain the way her hugs enveloped you in security, strength, and love. It’s hard to marry the idea of what Joanne’s physical state is, to her larger than life personality. The life of every party, the one who got you on the dance floor, the one who wiped your tears, the one you call with questions big and small. There are no words to what she provided emotionally to her family and friends, every single day of her life. After all the years she’s taken care of us, it’s time for us to take care of her.
Joanne’s medical team has told us she will require years of intense rehabilitation. After 27 days on the ventilator, and fighting two rigorous septic infections, Joanne is finally stabilized and has had her tracheostomy! Once she is ready, she will be transferred to a nursing home to start her rehabilitation. The money raised here will go directly to all of her medical and hospital expenses throughout her recovery. This is a very long steep road Joanne will have to travel. We appreciate any donation you can give, and we beg you all to keep Joanne in your prayers.
