Jim Keef has cancer. He is diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. His prognosis is for full recovery, but he needs our help. Jim’s treatment is going to be physically demanding, mentally challenging, and financially devastating.Jim is having a difficult time. This is unusual for this confident, former power lifter. As the pictures depict, this is an unusual situation for a man that has literally been the bastion of strength his entire life. He has now lost one hundred pounds and needs our help to regain his former health.
Our help is needed for him make it through this treatment. He has the support group for the personal care, but he does not have the financial wherewithal to shut down his business and income for the time that the treatment will take.
If you have ever known Jim or done business with him, you have probably experienced what we as close friends have: If you have a problem, Jim drops everything to be there for you. Even if he does not come right away to fix your computer, do a favor, or just to be there for you as a friend, he always makes sure that you know that he is doing what he can for you.
It is now our time to show our support for him. Jim’s needs are exceeding his savings and he has no ability to work while he is undergoing aggressive chemotherapy to beat this cancer. He has lived in a simple apartment in Larkspur for over twenty-five years and is not in a position to move. His landlord depends on his monthly rent to live and resides in the building and she is not in a position to help more than she has at this time.
We are asking for donations to help Jim with his rent, utility bills, food, and medical co-pay costs. As you can imagine this request is incredibly hard for a man that has always prided himself on independence and self-reliance. He has reluctantly given his permission to ask for donations to help him through this battle with cancer that he will most definitely win.
