My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's about seven or eight years ago. He has not been able to work for many years now and my mom has been taking care of him all by herself. She will be 65 this month and they have been married for 46 years. They always dreamed of traveling together and seeing the world, but they both ended up working hard to put all
of us kids through school and help us with our own life. With 4 children and 13 grandchildren, they have little time to pursue their own dreams. Since my dad was diagnosed, my mom has had to take over everything herself and she sold their house and land and moved into a smaller house. My dad can no longer drive or work so he has been staying at home while my mom goes to a full time job 40 hours a week. However that cannot be an option any longer as my dad is unable to even dress himself now without help. Thank God the children are now living closer to them but we all have jobs and cannot afford to help Mom as much as we would like to.
Now Dad is deteriorating really badly and mom cannot afford the care that he needs for him to live a healthy life with Alzheimers. I'm reaching out see if people can help my mom afford to put my father in some care for his Alzheimers. My mom is planning on using all of her 401 K to get my Dad into care, however that will not last very long. The care cost about $4,000 for a month! If you can donate any amount at all we would greatly appreciate it. Please pray about it and if God leads you to donate 5...10.. $20... anything at all, please do so. My mom has always helped us any time we needed it and now we should be the ones taking care of her and it's heartbreaking that we're not able to do so. She lost her husband years ago and yet she stands by his side while he deals with Alzheimer's and slowly start to forget who he is each day.
