Benefit for Jim Nicoll's widow Gail

Donation protected
Gail Starks Fields has been my friend for over 40 years. I encouraged her to join me in Rocky Point Mexico to start a new career in condo sales for the Sonoran Resorts. That's where she met Jim "Superman" Nicoll  in 2004. It was love at 1st sight for Jim. This is when Jim also started his "new career... Gail Fields". He pursued her with all his gentlemanly ways.  Jim Nicoll would not be stopped. He always accomplished what he set his mind to. Jim  retired to Mexico after a long infamous career as a race car driver. He has recieved many awards as well as being honored into the NHRA hall of fame Lifetime achievement award In 2012. The most dramatic event in Jim's career, was when he was racing his top fuel dragster against Don ""the Snake" Prudhomme. He was involved in an accident that tore his car in half. Everyone remembers this event...for it was shown every Sunday at the beginning of the Wide World of Sports. The hand of God helped him walk away from this event with minor injuries. Of course racing was not kind to Jims body. He had suffered many broken bones, including his back and other major medical problems that he fought through out his life. On Christmas Day his heart finally failed him and he passed peacefully in their home. Gail and Jim had just purchased this house less than one year ago. They put a lot of love and sweat equity into making this their ultimate retirement home. Jim became the happiest man on this planet when  Gail agreed to be his wife. 10 years of living together in Mexico, they were only married 4 months when he passed. Gail and all of Jim's family, friends and fans were devastated. This is the part of the story that breaks my heart. This is where I ask you to participate with helping Gail recover, mentally and financially. As you know, Gail is a very strong person, however, she has amassed all his medical bills, home bills and  other expenses associated with his passing. Since they were only married for 4 months, she is not entitled to any of his Social Security benefits and is trying to survive on hers alone. I am asking that we get her back on her feet. It is inevitable that Gail will have to return to the work force. At age 65 this will surely be another challenge that she will overcome. In the meantime I want to give her time to mourn and try to plan her life without Jim...in a positive way. This is what Jim would have wanted. We are now helping her plan a grand celebration of life for This great Man, friend, husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather. (Wow...Superman got around!).This private ceremony will be held in June at their home in White Mountain Lakes, AZ. His widow,Gail, wants to continue her life in their home. She has 2 big rescue dogs from Mexico. Frida and Dee Dee, and two months before Jim died, he brought home a puppy, Taz.  The big outdoor guard dogs give her peace of mind and Taz is her lap companion offering her warmth and a closeness to Jim. My wish for Gail is to heal and get stronger this next year without the burdens of the financial expenses. The donation goal indicated was determined by Jim's car number 771. I am hoping this number of $7,710.  will bring as much good luck to Gail as it always did for Jim. He even donated his car number to  Alexis DeJoria, who has gone on to become a successful race car driver in her own rights, driving her "Tequila Patron" funny car. Jim was always generous with friends, family and strangers. He shared his wisdom, funny anecdotes, monetary contributions and even bought his friends cars, rarely keeping anything for himself. He left us all richer for knowing him. You can Google Jim Nicoll and learn more about his life and career. I understand that his sons and racing buddies are planning a big public event to honor Jim in Dallas, Texas sometime this summer. Further details will be posted on Jim Nicoll's Facebook page. Also, many of you know that Jim wrote a book about his life and successful career. I have read some excerpts that will give you a whiplash  laughing in hysterics. So on that note...I also have one more wish for Jim, that we can raise enough funds to get his book published. Let's help Jim publish his book that he is so proud of and worked on for 5 years. Again, please help  our girlfriend get through this trying time. Any amount is appreciated. It all adds up, and will lighten her burden and hopefully her heart.  I would love to hear your favorite Jim and Gail stories that I can share at his memorial. Many, many, many Heartfelt Thanks.
