Jill's Relay Team to fight Cancer

I have always loved adventure ~ this one .... not so much.

Sitting in my Dr.'s office and hearing the word 'cancer', my mind launched into another dimension & my Dr.'s voice was very far away. How could this mountain climbing, triathlete & non smoker have stage 4 lung cancer? I was devastated. I am a new grandmother, dental hygienist, love doing volunteer work for the community, & love to see new places by backpacking.

We pushed ahead with scans and blood work and radiation to ease the pain and in the meantime the lab was testing my DNA for the rare EGFR mutation gene. If I had it, there is a brand new drug to prolong my life for 10 years or more! PRAISE GOD ~ I have the gene!

Thinking everything was on go and couldn't wait to start this drug there arose a problem. The drug is $14,000/mo. The insurance companies have differences ...is this a prescription matter, or a Dr. treatment matter? I can only afford a very low-tier Rx. Plan so my co-pay would be many thousands per month. Once again, I am devastated.
