Dear Friends,
I am very excited to announce the formation of my new organization, Jewish Links!
Last summer, I left my role with MEOR DC, after nine years of inspiring college students and providing them with opportunities to learn about and experience Judaism. Despite leaving the organization and moving on to a career in professional consulting, I have developed an exciting vision for a new way to efficiently and effectively reach many students across the region for a fraction of the cost of current Kiruv models. I aspire to make this vision a reality. In my spare time, I have launched a new organization to continue my passion for Jewish outreach and the Jewish people.
During my time with MEOR I observed that thousands of young people on hundreds of campuses don't even know about the many amazing programs that exist, such as internships and trips created just for Jewish college students. Currently these programs are promoted and brought to life on a limited number of high caliber universities. My vision entails going to college campuses where there is no existing formal college outreach organization (like MEOR) to reach those students.
As of September, I have hired three young and successful professionals (a computer engineer, an attorney and a social worker) who are also B'nai Torah (very knowledgeable and holy Jews). They have already begun reaching out to students at University of Delaware, George Mason University, and Gettysburg College to bring their wealth of knowledge and extend access to all the inspirational and existing programs out there!
Examples of trips and programs we are connecting the students with.
Akiva, Israel Recharge, Israel 2.0 (Aish), Jewel, JLE (Ohr Samayach), JIS(Medical Ethics), GoSephardic, Thrive , Heritage House & Pathways (Shappels).
Sinai Retreats, Herritage Retreats (West cost and Poland) & Jewish Experiencing Week.
Jinternships (NY, DC, Israel) & Lakewood Fellowships & Way More Israel.
One-on-one learning with our Rabbi and Maimonides-type programs (JUMax)
The key to our success is collaboration. We are in the process of establishing partnerships with all existing Jewish organizations on each campus, including Hillel, Chabad, fraternities, sororities, and pro -Israel groups. Our campus Rabbis will be assisting the campus-based organizations by providing more options and resources available to their students.
Our budget is a fraction of most campus Jewish outreach organizations. Our entire budget for 2016-17 is $14,000.
Partner with us. Help make a difference today!
All the best
