From: Jessica (Pringle) Corley
Many of you know me as Jessica Pringle, but some will recognize me as Jessica Corley, the newly wed. As a Georgia Resident and a current student of The Ohio State University, here is a quick list of where you may know me from.
For all of the positions I have held, nothing would be possible without the community that has helped raise me and support me to get to this point in my life, a second year veterinary student. As I continue to expand my horizons, I look forward to traveling this summer in Thailand! Along with 15 other veterinary students, I was selected to travel to Thailand and receive additional training on elephant and exotic animal medicine.
I am raising money to fund the cost of an international elephant and exotic animal medicine course that takes place in Thailand. Ultimately, helping me to learn how to practice high quality veterinary medicine on non-traditional and exotic species. This course will take place in Chiang Mai, Thailand and is taught by the faculty of The Chiang Mai University in conjunction with the Thai Elephant Conservation center.
WHY SHOULD YOU SUPPORT ME?
Supporting my education will help make me a better veterinarian in the future. Beyond, learning more about exotic animal medicine, I will be able to develop my communication skills to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people. This has the potential to directly impact you, your friends, family, co-workers and/or acquaintances, as I could be your locally practicing veterinarian, providing high quality care to the pets of your community!
Here is a short video highlighting the work of previous classes:
The upcoming trip will include:
This is just the planned portion of the trip, who knows what we will learn along the way!
My goal is to raise enough funds to help offset the cost of the course, traveling, and living expenses (total: ~ $6000). Here is a brief list of the estimated costs:
The funding for the trip will need to be raised as soon as possible as the payment deadlines are quickly approaching (end funding raising date: May 20th). The month long trip will take place at the end of May 2015. I completely understand that everyone may not be able to donate, but remember every little bit helps. Most importantly prayers and encouraging thoughts are always appreciated, in addition to passing on the word to others.
No amount is too small. No amount is too big. Unable to donate, send a prayer and share the story!
