Donate to Jessi’s Fight Against Leukemia

Hi, my name is Kelly and I am fundraising on behalf of my sister, Jessica (Jessi) Youhas, who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, also known as ALL. It is a cancer of the bone marrow and blood. Jessi is currently being treated at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, located approximately two hours from her home in Mattoon, Illinois.
Since ALL is known as an acute condition that progresses rapidly without treatment, it was very important to start treatment right away. She is in great hands with the doctors there and is expected to remain at this facility in order to complete chemotherapy and required testing needed (up to a month). This has been such a sudden, unexpected shift for her and we just want Jessi to be as comfortable as possible while she undergoes chemo. She is a warrior and we are going to be with her every step of the way. I will be sure to post updates as we receive them.
While a diagnosis like this was not exactly how Jessi or our family wanted to bring in the New Year, it is a battle we must fight in the coming months. We anticipate 2023 will be a crucial time for treatment, remission and recovery. I am calling on friends & family who would like to help make this entire process a little less stressful financially so Jessica can focus on what’s important, kicking cancer’s butt!! If you know Jessi, you already know she is the sweetest, kindest, most joyful person on this planet whose smile can light up a room. She loves her dog, Nova and enjoys spending time with her partner Philip, her gym/CrossFit family in Mattoon and her work family at Central HS in Champaign.
Please give what you can. Anything and everything helps. While it is hard to anticipate what the final cost will be, these funds will go directly to Jessica and those assisting her to mitigate expenses during and after treatment. Things like her car payment, gas money for travel back and forth to appointments, lodging, etc. I am hoping we can all pull our resources to pitch in and help because if anyone deserves this assistance, it’s my sister.
Thank you friends! Please continue to send warm thoughts and prayers her way. It is all received with gratitude and love.
