LA Couple Needs Your Help
Hi there, we’re Jess and Sean, a couple from Los Angeles and here’s our story:
About ten years ago, we created a children's program that taught kids about food and how to cook. We ran it at a local elementary school as a volunteer program for 6 years before deciding to take the leap of faith and open up a brick-and-mortar. With the help of an angel investor, we opened our doors in January 2019. The business was thriving; we had begun looking into locations for a second school and were about to break even, all only 13 months after opening. Then, in March 2020, we were shut down due to the pandemic. Within a week, our investor pulled all funding; overnight, our business and income were gone. We quickly adapted and created online, donation-based classes for kids worldwide. We were reaching families all over and giving them something extraordinary during a time that was uncertain for many, including our own family.
You’d think that with all our experience and success with our children's program, we would do it again, but after making several business plans and models, we’ve realized the overhead and risks are too high. After years and thousands of families loving our food/recipes, we have decided to open virtual restaurants from a ghost kitchen at The Colony in West Los Angeles. This will give us the opportunity to have endless cuisine options, focus on what works, and allow us to go back to what we love, which is helping the families of local communities live happier and healthier lives through empowerment, employment and the ability to thrive. We are about to start this new venture in the next few months and could really use your help. The donations we receive will go directly towards startup costs (including necessary equipment) and the ability to operate the business effectively for at least the first 6 months.
After almost losing everything during the pandemic, being behind on rent, buried in debt and only able to pay our current bills, this dream team is ready for an epic comeback. So please help us start the first of what will be many locations nationwide.
