Update: Eddie is approaching the end of his life. The focus is now on daily comfort and a peaceful passing. Cancer has taken over his body and mind. The twins don't understand permanence. We have begun arrangements. We ask for your prayers.
Jenny, she is one of us. The sales warrior, mom.
How is Jenny my Twin?...For starter we have had the same career path: sales consultant for our nation's largest homebuilders, we both drive Prius, and Sienna. We both have Twin toddler boys and both named one son Carter. We both live in San Jose and both have positive attitude towards life and professionally and personally balanced as strong women.
The difference is her twins won't get to have their dad at their graduation, or wedding or other milestones. Jenny's husband health is going down a path of no return. Please read her story below and help me support, Jenny my Twin.
I never imagined when I walked down the aisle, 13 years ago, that I will be losing my life partner, my husband, and my love, so soon. I imagined a ripe old age full of happy memories, arguments and make ups after making life decisions and defending our differing opinions. It was just the beginning. There are so many more life bridges we have yet to cross. Life lessons to teach our twin boys. And now, how life and our future has changed.
As our doctor danced around the truth about Eddie’s prognosis, we asked him to give us the reality of his illness. I will never forget the sadness in the doctor’s eyes, as he adjusted his seat, to tell us we have a ‘few short months.’ Cancer has forced us to treasure the last few moments we have together. Suddenly nothing matters besides the things we always wanted to do together and the time we want to spend together. We dreamed of going to Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Cambodia, one day. Reality is those dreams will left unfulfilled.
Eddie’s passion was traveling. Before I could ever finish uttering the words, ‘let’s go on a trip to…’ Eddie’s booked the flight, lodging and vehicle. Then for weeks after, he scours the internet looking for that great deal that can save a few more dollars so we have funds for the next trip. Meanwhile Eddie has a smile from ear to ear just thinking about the trip. The morning of our departure, tickets and confirmations in hand, arriving at the airport insanely early, the excitement is real, Eddie couldn’t not be happier in life.
Now, the decision has been made. We are no longer going to subject Eddie’s body to more foreign medicine only to make him bedridden. We have chosen to live! The time we have left, we are doing Eddie’s wish list and for him to spend as much time as he has with his boys. I would love for the twin boys to remember him as that comedic soul who loves life more than material. I want to fill the boy’s memory bucket of their papa as a happy laughter filled man versus a sickly miserable man during the last few days of his life.
The way we can assist is through this gofundme account. Any contribution will help. For those of you who have tragically experienced cancer or a catastrophic loss in your life or someone you love, you understand the overwhelming expenses.
Thank you for caring.
