Thank you for being a part of our wedding day. While donations are appreciated please know that your well wishes and presence is enough.
We have lived together for nearly 3 years, we don't have a need for many registry items. Instead, we would like for our loved ones to help us begin a fund for a seismic retrofit on our home.
The primary purpose of earthquake retrofitting would be to keep our home from being displaced from its concrete foundation — making the building safer and less prone to major structural damage during an earthquake. As our Seattle home was built in the 1940s, it needs to be retrofitted because the understanding of the effects of earthquakes as well as construction techniques have improved after our home was built.
