Help Jen & Bee open into their Brick & Mortar

Hello all! Jen & Bee here!

Jen (left) and Rebecca (right) are two Portland based bakers with a passion like no other! Both have started and solely operate their own baking companies. The goal for both is to provide a variety of quailty from scratch baked goods with love and the utmost care, direct and wholesale to consumers. We have decided to join forces in hopes of creating a brick and mortar storefront, “Jen and Bee’s”.  (More info below)

Bee (Rebecca) owns Bee's Custom Cakes. Focusing on making special occasion cakes, wedding cakes, dessert catering, and wholesale pastries. She is originally from San Diego, and moved to Portland to achieve her goal of opening a bakery. In 2017. In 2018 Bee opened a coffee shop in an 1964 Airstream selling cake by the slice, espresso and more. She closed August 2019 to focus solely on special event, wedding cakes, wholesale and catering. 

Jen owns Jen's (Bagels & Pastries) making naturally leavened bagels, breakfast pastries, cookies and more. She is originally from New
Bedford, MA and moved to Portland with the intention of furthering her education in baking.
She worked at a bakery in Portland for two years before
opening her small-batch wholesale bakery. 

We met each other in our previous commissary kitchen! We found that we related in so many
ways as small business owners. We both shared similar morals, work ethic, passions and drive
and we both had a dream of opening a brick and mortar.  Due to certain circumstances we both
found we had to move from our commissary
kitchens, so we decided to find a place to share.

As many of you know, we moved into our
current commercial kitchen in May 2019 with
the intention of turning it into a cafe 3 days a
week. Since moving in, we have had MAJOR issues in our current space - landlord failing to abide by lease agreements, safety issues, and constant security issues. This has been a discouraging experience, but we are staying as positive as possible. These issues have hindered our ability to open
as a cafe, and it has also caused us major stress. We need to get out of here if we want to
continue progressing our businesses.


Our next step from there was our decision to join forces and open "Jen & Bee's" a brick and mortar experience filled with all of the deliciousness  Jen and Bee can create. Here is where we can use some help! 

We found a new kitchen and it is everything we were looking for, we just need some help getting there. We spent all of our resources moving into our current kitchen and getting it outfitted for a cafe, and now that we aren't able to do that, we have to do it all over again in a new spot.

In this  new location we would be signing a five year lease establishing in the area for the long haul. This is a place where we can grow Jen & Bee's
into what we have envisioned for a long time.
We want to provide a welcoming space where
you can come get cakes & pies by the slice, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, coffee and more on the daily! It would also become our pickup location for custom orders and we’ll make sure to have
cookies for the kids on the way home! We aspire to be the space where you come get every special occasion cake, sweet, and pastry with confidence for the whole family. We want Jen & Bee's to be a household name.

Below is the breakdown of the $10,000 hoped for to cover expenses, as well as the  perks that we would like to share with you for your donation. 

Move out costs $3,000 
Move in costs for new kitchen $4,000 
Updates/Needs to get the storefront running $3,000
