Help Jen Piehl Kick Cancers Ass!

Hi, my name is Michele Herrera and I am Jen’s sister. Jen was recently diagnosed with Endometrium Carcinoma and will have to undergo radiation, chemo and possibly other treatments.

Jen tested positive for Lynch Syndrome last year which is an inherited condition. Our mom has had 3 bouts of cancer and that lead her oncologist to suggest genetic testing. Unfortunately, our mom’s test came back positive for Lynch Syndrome. Not only did it come back positive, it also showed the familial MSH6 variant to be relatively rare.

After Jen received her positive result for Lynch Syndrome, she made some appointments with her Doctors to discuss preventative care. After she met with her Doctors, they set a date for a total hysterectomy. Meanwhile, waiting for her surgery date, Jen started having complications. The team of Doctors ordered CT’s, ultrasounds, biopsies and an MRI. The MRI showed cancer in her endometrial stripe.

After surgery, Jen’s Oncologist presented her case to their tumor team. Due to how rare Jen’s case is, they have decided to present it to the Mayo Clinic for their opinion on how to treat it.

We, along with Jen are patiently waiting to hear what they come up with so she can start her treatments!

Jen is the owner of Jen’s Studio 108 hair salon in Vermillion, MN. She has owned her salon for 17 years and has been doing hair for 32 years. Jen is a hairstylist whose clients are more like family to her then just a client. She is already missing them and feeling bad she can’t be there to do their hair!

She is not able to work right now and if she’s not at the salon cutting, coloring, perming etc., she is not getting paid.

Jen needs our help right now. There are medical bills, mortgage payments and every day bills that she can’t pay if she’s not working.
