Jeffrey M. Sanders, 43, of Huntington, WV, formerly of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away September 5, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 9, 1971, in King City, California, a son to Gary & (Lyta) Sanders of Columbia, S.C. and Brenda Conkel of Crown City, OH. He was a truck driver and drove for US Foods before he became ill. He was an avid sports fan and loved to fish, bowl, golf, and loved to watch WVU and Marshall play. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and will be sadly missed by all.
Jeff is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nate & Leota Conkel; paternal grandparents, Otto & Irene Sanders; and step-sister Charlotte Gentner Grandy.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty three years, Joy Robinson Sanders of Huntington; son, Jeffrey Sanders II of Huntington; daughter, Michelle Sanders of Huntington; brother Keith & (Crystelle) Sanders of Southpoint, OH; two stepbrothers, Fred Gentner, and John & (Lajuana) Gentner of Columbia, S.C.; step father, Gary "Pops" & Teresa Killebrew of Bidwell, OH; step mother, granddaughter Layla Grace Sanders of Huntington; two great nieces, several nieces & nephews; best friend, Dave & Megan Duppstadt of Sylva, N.C.; and his special dog Teddy.
Funeral services will be held at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Peasant, WV, Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at 1 PM, with Pastors Lee Dean and Timmy Aurthur officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Memorial Cemetery in Milton, WV. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 11-1 PM prior to the service.
