On October 13, 2025, I lost someone very close to me. His name was Jeffrey A. Plotke.

Jeff was born on June 23, 1987. He was only 38 years old, and he resided in Lincoln, Illinois. Jeff had been going through a lot of mental health issues, and his mental health had declined very rapidly in such a short period of time.

The Jeff I remember was outgoing, happy, full of life, and he enjoyed going camping and loved writing music. Jeff would do anything for anyone and would always be there to help his friends without hesitation. A week before Jeffrey passed away, he had been missing, and no one had heard from him for almost 2 weeks, so there was a missing person's report put out on him. Thankfully, Jeff was found in Bloomington, Illinois, where he had been staying at Tent City. Jeff came back to Lincoln after being told that his brother had unfortunately passed away.

Jeff was back in Lincoln for only a few short days, and then I got the worst news I could ever possibly imagine... Jeff had taken his own life right out across the street from where I live at Kickapoo Creek Park here in Lincoln.

My name is Kelsey Skelton, and I am Jeffrey's ex-fiancée. He had left me in charge of things if anything would ever happen to him medically or unexpectedly. I loved Jeff very much, and he knew I would do anything I could for him. Unfortunately, Jeff did not have any life insurance, so I'm asking for donations for his cremation costs and funeral costs.

I am also wanting to bury Jeffrey at a later date.
