The Jayne Garforth Macmillan Centre

Donation protected

Our loving mother, nanna, sister, auntie and friend Cheryl Denise Passmore sadly passed away surrounded by her family at 10:30pm
on the 27th November of ovarian cancer. One of her final wishes was to raise funds for the Jayne Garforth Macmillan Centre at Calderdale Royal Hospital. She wanted as many other families to experience the amazing support and care given by all doctors and nurses by this service.

We as a family can't speak highly enough of the care and support we all received during this difficult time. From supporting Cheryl with the emotional struggle of been told about her illness to it becoming terminal only a few short months ago, they really do make a difference. They even helped support our family's house move so we could give Cheryl her wish of dying at home surrounded by her family. This is a service that will be needed by many of you in your life time, either for yourself, family or a friend. Lets help give a vital service everything it requires so its their to help us all through our struggles just like it did for Cheryl. Please donate as much as you can, together we can give support and care to the next family who is in desperate need of the services provided.

We would like to say a massive thank you from all the Passmore family for your donations for a very worthy cause.

Pls share on all your social channel, together let's raise as much as we can!

ABOUT THE JAYNE GARFORTH MACMILLAN CENTRE

The Jayne Garforth Macmillan Information & Support Centre in Calderdale Royal Hospital provides free and confidential information, as well as practical, financial and emotional support to people living with cancer and their families. The staff and volunteers are there when you need someone to talk to, and can help by referring you for benefits advice and applying for grants, as well as referring for Blue Badges, home adaptations and other services such as psychology, counselling and work support. The service runs three support groups – a Macmillan coffee group, a Macmillan singing group and a Macmillan Health Walk – and can direct you to other local support groups. The service also co-ordinates ‘First Steps’, an information and support session for people recently diagnosed with cancer; ‘Health and Wellbeing Events’ for people at the end of treatment and ‘Thinking Ahead’ – a programme for people living with incurable cancer, and their family members. The centre also holds a wealth of information about cancer treatment, managing side effects and local services. Please email [email redacted] to sign up to the service’s monthly newsletter, to be kept up to date with events, courses and support groups.
