Friends & Family,
As many of you know, this year has been good to me. I became a man...or maybe a teenager wanting to be a man. LOL. Either way I am 13!!! As part of my turning 13, my dad has agreed to take me on my first international mission trip. Here's the catch, I have to raise my own money. Being that I have a dream with no job, I'm reaching out to you for your support.
I will be traveling with a group of awesome people from our church to an orphanage in Kete Kratchi, Ghana, called the Village of Life. I am really excited to travel and meet all of the kids at the orphanage. I know many kids my age don't understand how blessed we are or how good our lives are. We always want the newest/latest game or kicks, but in places like Africa, you see what really matters. I believe this trip will change the way I look at life, people, and the world around me.
While we are there I will have the opportunity to work alongside the kids at the orphanage as they perform their daily chores. We will also do gardening, cleaning, building and grounds maintenance, teaching a variety of classes, and assist in teaching a sport I love with kids who also love it...soccer. When we're not at the orphanage, we will visit a couple of the islands where the trafficked kids were rescued from and troll the lake where most of the trafficking takes place. I'm hoping my experience will open my eyes to ways I can make a difference when returning home.
Since this is my first trip out of the country, I've set a goal of $3,000 to make this dream a reality. This will cover all of my expenses. Whatever I don't need, or if I raise more, I will use it to bless the kids at the Village of Life.
Thanks in advance!
I love you all.
