Janine Terrill is a single mother, a school teacher, and someone who has quietly spent her life showing up for others. She donates when she has little. She helps when it costs her something. She believes deeply in community.
Right now, she needs that community to show up for her.
Janine is fighting Multiple Myeloma, an aggressive blood cancer that brings constant pain, exhaustion, and endless medical appointments. On top of that, she is preparing for throat surgery to remove a vocal cord polyp—forcing her onto medical leave and making it impossible for her to work while she recovers.
As a single mom to her daughter, Summer, this loss of income has been devastating. Rent is behind. Bills are piling up. And just when things felt like they couldn’t stretch any further, Janine’s car was totaled—and it is not paid off. That loss affects everything: getting to medical care, buying groceries, simply keeping life moving forward.
This is a delicate and critical moment. Janine and Summer are doing everything they can to stay housed, stable, and safe while Janine fights for her health and her future.
What makes this especially hard is that Janine is not someone who asks for help easily. She sees others suffering and often believes they deserve support more than she does. But pain is not a competition. And being sick, exhausted, and afraid of losing your home is more than enough reason to reach out.
Every donation will go directly toward:
Rent and housing stability
Medical and recovery-related expenses
Daily necessities like groceries, utilities, and school supplies
Transportation needs after the loss of her car
Even a small gift helps. Even sharing this page helps.
Janine once said she wished she could just “get a break.”
This is our chance to be that break—to lift some of the weight she has been carrying alone.
Thank you for caring for Janine and Summer when it matters most.
