On April 18, 2020, 39 year old Jamal Dicks, succumbed to complications related to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) after a strenuous battle in the hospital. Jamal was a devoted and loving father of two. He leaves behind his children (Kayla Dicks, 7 and Jamal Dicks, Jr., 2); his partner (Phylicia Victorian); his mother (Jeannette Dicks); younger siblings (Corey Taylor, Jevon Taylor and Bria Patton); and grandmother (Carol Livingston).
Unfortunately, due to his untimely death, we are in need of funds to cover:
- Funeral/Burial expenses
- Financial support for his two young children
Due to social distancing, we cannot mourn as a family, which has had a devastating impact on our grieving process.

About Jamal Dicks:
Jamal Dicks was born at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY to Jeannette Dicks and Arnold Ricks. He grew up in Mount Vernon, NY and attended Mount Vernon High School (MVHS) where he was a member and captain of the MV Razorbacks football team and member of the wrestling team. Jamal graduated with his HS diploma in 1998. He then went on to attend Hudson Valley Community College. Jamal was passionate about family and was a father figure not only to his own children, but to his 3 younger siblings who loved and respected him dearly. Jamal was loyal to friends, family and those he knew. Though intimidating in size, Jamal was a big teddy bear. He was extremely loving, caring and protective towards others. He had a huge heart of gold and a giving spirit. We will miss Jamal’s kind nature and jovial presence. May his spirit be at eternal peace.

I am Jamal's cousin and I am raising funds on behalf of his mother, Jeannette Dicks. She is my first cousin and our mothers are sisters.
