Help establish Jamaica's first solar-powered coffee roaster!

This project could be considered green for several reasons. it works completely off-grid. And it is used to roast 'green' coffee beans.

Coffee is the first agricultural exportation product of Jamaica. Most of the added value is in the roasting process, which is usually done abroad. Concentrating solar energy provides a sustainable, clean and affordable mean of roasting coffee locally. The producers’ income could be improved with such a technology, enhancing their quality of life.

Island Coffee Traders is a group of small coffee producers that work together to produce, process and export their coffee and bypass the large coffee processing mills, to bring more recognition to the work they do and gain a greater share of the income generated.

Donations will be used to help cover the cost of setup for our completely electric solar powered coffee roaster.
