Update, as of December 17th, 2016. Jagger went into the hospital yesterday for what should have been his last chemo appointment....again. Unfortunately, just as they did back in March, his scans showed that the metasteses in his lung was still there and had doubled in size since the last scan in September. This lung tumor was resistant to the first round of chemo, resistant to lung radiation, and resistant to the second round of chemo. The Merry Christmas we all hoped for is now a distant memory. We are waiting with bated breath to see if the surgical team will approve and perform another lung surgery, hopefully in the next few days, to see what exactly we are dealing with in Jagger's lung. If it is tumor tissue, our final option may only be a stem cell transplant, which would have us locked up in the hospital for the next several months. It looks like our plans to send Jagger to kindergarten second semester are squashed, I can't go back to work, and I'm not sure how we will be able to keep our home. The doctor's are saying that this is an extremely rare outcome for Wilms. Everyone is confused and heartbroken. After a year and a half of fighting, we are still losing this battle with cancer, for no apparent reason. This is just senseless. Jagger is such a sweet, smart, funny kid and he has no symptoms of the disease and no symptoms from the treatment so far. If he had hair, no one would ever know about his constant struggle and our dark and relentless
fear and heartbreak.
Last September, five year old, Jagger Stone, was diagnosed with Stage IV Wilms tumor, a rare kidney tumor that had spread to his lungs. That was a little over one year ago and Jagger has been fighting through surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy with a smile on his face ever since. Jagger has spent most of his time at home or in the hospital over the last year, avoiding crowded places, friends’ birthday parties, and even missing out on his first semester of kindergarten. Jagger’s mom has exhausted all of her resources providing him with home care and trying to keep that smile on his face during this trying and terrifying time. We are raising funds to support this single mom and her only child so that they can continue to fight this battle together without the added stress of overwhelming medical expenses.
Thank you for your support of this courageous little boy and his dedicated mom.
