The ongoing nationwide COVID-19 lockdown in Sri Lanka is having a devastating economic effect on the country’s most vulnerable populations. With extremely little and oftentimes no government support, those that are already impoverished cannot currently work and unable to meet basic day-to-day needs. Prices for essential commodities have increased sharply during the lockdown, food insecurity is high and many are on the verge of death from hunger. With your help, Neyam Foundation will provide financial support to purchase food for those in the Jaffna and surrounding areas . Your donation will support the Jaffna Lions Club, community centres, churches, temples and village leaders (Grama Sevakas) to directly give common dry foods (rice, lentil, baby formula) and other essential food items to families with children, the elderly and others in need.

Neyam Foundation will work with trusted local partners to make sure 100% of your donations will go directly to essential food supplies. We will cover all administrative fees for this campaign. Our aim is to provide hunger relief during the lockdown and we hope you will donate what you can.

Funds Distribution:
All funds will be received by Father Amirtha Jeyasegaram of The Jaffna Diocesan Centre for F Workers (A registered Sri Lankan charity).
Father Jeyasegaram will coordinate the distribution of the funds to local organizations for the purchase and distribution of food.
